The Lode ecosystem

You are what you measure.

A set of personal instruments for understanding where your money went, how your time was lived, and what your body responds to.

ᛜ / Ingwaz

For people who do not trust “about right.”

You already know whether this is you. You have built the spreadsheet. You have tried the generic tracker. You are not looking for more motivation; you are looking for a model that preserves reality with enough context to learn from it.

  1. 01

Where did the money actually go – not approximately, and not only in one account?

  2. 02

Did the week resemble the plan, or did memory quietly rewrite it afterward?

  3. 03

What changes when sleep, food, training, work, and recovery change?

If those questions sound excessive, Lode is probably not for you. If not asking them feels careless, you may have found your place.

Memory is a story.
Lode keeps the evidence.

Most personal data is fragmented across bank apps, calendars, fitness platforms, notes, and abandoned spreadsheets. Each tool sees one surface. None preserves your model.

Lode separates the facts that matter – one ledger from another, intention from execution, one kind of physical practice from the next – then keeps them legible over years.

Plan and reality
Intention and outcome remain separate so the difference stays visible.
Context over time
Every measurement keeps the ledger, project, activity, and history that made it meaningful.
Structure without dogma
The model is rigorous; what you choose to observe and how you act on it remain yours.

Three instruments.
One durable record.

Gain records money. Beat records time. Peak will record health. Each app is useful by itself, but together they form a holistic long-term model of your wellbeing.

Identity / SSO

One account covers the entire suite. Each app uses the same identity service and shares the session automatically.

01 / MONEY

Advanced personal budgeting

Lode Gain

In daily use

Personal finance without pretending all money belongs in one bucket.

Gain is for finances that have outgrown a monthly expense list: several ledgers, several currencies, shared contexts, transfers, investments, and plans that need to remain distinct without becoming disconnected.

Open Gain

Working surface / 2026.07

  • Independent ledgers with separate ownership and historyReady
  • Shared ledgers, members, and invitation linksReady
  • 17,000+ cryptocurrencies plus all global fiat currenciesReady
  • Current and historical currency conversionReady

  • Planning, category breakdowns, and period analysisReady

Underneath: a multi-tenant ownership model, exact decimal arithmetic, historical rates, and data boundaries designed to survive growth.

Product posture / mobile is the primary surface

Gain is a mobile-first PWA. Its desktop view keeps the phone-width layout. Records, balances, plans, and analysis stay in the same place on every device.

02 / TIME

Personal time tracking and planning

Lode Beat

Active beta

Time tracking that treats intention and execution as different facts.

Beat puts the plan beside the lived day. It records what you intended, what actually happened, and the projects and activities that gave the hours meaning. The point is not to fill every minute. It is to see the variance clearly.

Open Beat

Current build / active development

  • Live timers and exact manual time recordsReady
  • Planned and actual time kept as separate factsReady
  • Mobile capture and full-width desktop timelineReady
  • Projects, nested activities, and historical categoriesReady
  • Versioned long-range roadmapsIn progress
  • Shared spaces and billing contextIn progress

Product posture / task-specific layouts

Beat has two layouts. Mobile handles capture, editing, and daily planning. Desktop opens the weekly planned-and-actual timeline to the full viewport.

03 / BODY

Holistic physical wellbeing

Lode Peak

Research

Physical wellbeing treated as one connected system.

Peak will connect nutrition, training, movement, recovery, sleep, meditation, and any other practice that affects the body. It is intended to be broad enough for swimming, hiking, a gym session, or ten quiet minutes – and precise enough to compare them over time.

Design field / scope being defined

  • Nutrition and intake records without diet dogmaIn progress
  • Training, movement, sport, and physical practiceIn progress
  • Recovery, sleep, meditation, and subjective wellbeingIn progress
  • A flexible activity model instead of a fixed exercise catalogueIn progress
  • Cross-domain questions spanning money, time, and healthResearch

Old symbols.
New context.

The logos are a quiet homage to Norse culture. Each Elder Futhark rune was chosen for the energy and meaning it conveys.

01

Lode / Ingwaz

Potential. Long-term goals. The amber line is a literal vein of gold inside dark stone.

02

Gain / Fehu

Wealth, abundance, prosperity. The right energy for a ledger that treats money as a system.

03

Beat / Jera

The year, the harvest, the cycle. Time understood through repetition, intention, and consequence.

04

Peak / Tiwaz

Purpose, discipline, and willing sacrifice. The necessary components for a capable body.

Built by one.
First, for two.

Right now, the active user base is exactly two people: me and my girlfriend. We use Lode every single day. That helps to consistently make it better and keep the bullshit out.

I have zero interest in building another cheap, growth-hacked SaaS. I am building an organic community around a tool I actually love. The backend is already prepared to scale for millions, but I won't rush it – the right people will find us.

The core logic goes back to when I started living by myself at 16, surviving on $100 a month. I was tracking every penny and every second. That taught me that rigid systems inevitably break in the long term. Humans are not machines. Heavily inspired by Thinking in Systems, Lode doesn’t try to eliminate chaos. It respects it, accounts for it, and contains it.

Andrei Furdui , creator of Lode

“We can't impose our will on a system. We can listen to what the system tells us...

...and discover how its properties and our values can work together to bring forth something much better than could ever be produced by our will alone.”

Donella MeadowsSystems scientist · MIT research fellow · Dartmouth professor · Thinking in Systems

Keep the record.
Observe the pattern.

Dance with chaos.
